DBMS migration

Database migration is the process of migrating data from one or more source databases to one or more target databases using the Database Migration Service. When the migration is complete, the data set in the source databases is completely, albeit with possible restructuring, in the target databases.
You may need to migrate data to replace servers or storage devices, or to consolidate or retire a data center. Data migration is also an important step in the overall process of migrating your on-premise IT infrastructure to the cloud to not only modernize your data warehouse and better address today's analytics use cases, but also improve cost-effectiveness.

Data migration is necessary to consolidate data from various sources into one central repository where it can be accessed by multiple organizational units. This usually occurs post-acquisition, especially if systems from different companies need to be consolidated, or if systems are dispersed throughout the organization. Whether you're migrating to a public cloud, private cloud, hybrid cloud, or multi-cloud, you need a secure, cost-effective, and efficient way to move your data to a new location.

Choosing the right data migration approach is the first step to making your project run smoothly and without major delays.
